Grateful for the healing process and awareness to listen to my body. Many changes that need to be made in order to become the best version of yourself, and sometimes those sacrifices are the small daily habits that over time can lead to large long-term issues- if not checked.
Once a year- this is a stop that has to be made to make sure my diagnosis is under control. There’s a history of cancer in my family and over the last 25 years, my military occupation and subsequent jobs that were related to my military training, exposed me to many biological and radiological environments. No regrets- that’s the sacrifice I chose.
Thank God- today I’m all clear. I’ll be back next year 🙏🏾 🤎 ☀️☮️🫡🇺🇸⚓️

🎉 To our parents and caregivers: as you prepare to send your children and dependents back to school or off to college, take a moment to celebrate everything you’ve juggled this summer.🎉
You managed the chaotic schedules, family vacations, and endless responsibilities to make it a success! But as this new educational calendar year begins, remember what they say before airplane takeoff: you must put your own oxygen mask on first before assisting others.
As you get the kids ready for their new routines, what is your plan of action for you once they head off? Make sure your upcoming schedule includes time for personal care—whether that’s setting appointments to care for your health, taking a well-deserved spa day, or simply taking a breather. Make time for yourself just as you do for everyone else, because you can't care for others long-term if you're running on empty!
🌾 Calling All Veterans, Military Families, & Community Members! 🌾
While you're preparing your family for the school year ahead, make sure you take a step to empower yourself too. Join us for the 5th of 6 Taylor Veteran Services & The Potter's House Community Group Meetings!
On August 5th, we had our largest group of participants yet, and we are looking to grow and build even more! As Jesus noted in Matthew 9:37 and Luke 10:2, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." Many in our community need assistance, truth, and guidance—and we are here to walk with you to ensure your VA benefit questions, comments, and concerns are addressed.

Grateful to support the next generation of givers! ☀️
Today, Taylor Veterans Services had the honor of donating snacks—water, fruit, juice, and chips—at the VA Houston Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center for our youth summer volunteers. While we couldn't stay for the ceremony, we were blessed to drop off these refreshments for the children who spent their summer serving our nation’s veterans. Our hope is to inspire the next generation to step up and serve those in need!
Right after dropping off the snacks, we headed over to Reliant Stadium for Houston Texans Training Camp presented by Xfinity! It was definitely a hot one, but we stayed hydrated in the shade while connecting with fellow Texans fans and cheering on our local team. We are pumped for the upcoming football season across all levels—junior high, high school, college, and the NFL! 🏈🔥
A great day spent out in the community, and we look forward to all that God has in store ahead!

🚀 TAYLOR VETERAN SERVICES: FRIDAY FUN FACT & FAITH 🌌
Happy Friday, Veterans and families! Here is your weekly dose of cosmic perspective to carry you into the weekend.
🛸 THE FUN FACT:
Did you know that the U.S. Space Force is the youngest and smallest branch of our Armed Forces? Their service members aren't called Airmen or Soldiers—they are officially called Guardians.
Their official motto is Semper Supra, which translates to "Always Above." When it was established, leadership noted that in the vastness of space, there is no true day or night. The sun is always shining somewhere. Semper Supra represents an unending, ceiling-free commitment to watching over and shielding those below.
🙏 THE SPIRITUAL INSIGHT:
There is a profound spiritual truth hidden inside that motto. When you are going through a dark season, transitioning out of uniform, or dealing with heavy memories, it can feel like you’re completely in the dark.
But the Space Force reminds us of a cosmic reality: just because it’s dark where you are standing doesn't mean the light has ceased to exist.
Beyond the clouds, the light is always there. Spiritually, Semper Supra reminds us that there is a higher perspective. You are never truly isolated. There is a shield above you and a community around you. Sometimes, finding the light again simply requires us to stop looking down at our struggles, and start looking up for backup.
🛡️ GUARDIANS OF YOUR WELL-BEING:
Just as Guardians keep watch from above, there are people dedicated to watching over you right here on Earth. Reaching out isn’t weakness—it’s a tactical decision to secure your future and protect your peace.
If you are looking for support, housing assistance, mental health resources, or the benefits you rightfully earned, don't walk the path alone:
🌐 Explore your benefits: Visit va.gov
🚨 Immediate, 24/7 Backup: If you or a Vet you know is going through a tough time, the Veterans Crisis Line is always open. Dial 988, then press 1, or text 838255.
There is no ceiling to your healing, and the watchtower is always manned. Have a safe, blessed, and victorious weekend!

⚽ FRIDAY FUN FACT: The World Cup, Mindfulness, & The U.S. Army 🪖
Happy Friday from Taylor Veteran Services! To kick off your weekend, we’re tying together the world's biggest soccer tournament, mental grounding, and military history.
How do they connect? Let’s break it down:
🏆 The World Cup: A masterclass in global unity. Millions of people from different cultures put aside differences to focus on a single, shared passion.
🧘 Mindfulness & Grounding: In practice, life is often compared to a game. It requires daily discipline, deep breathing, and keeping your eyes on the goal while blocking out the chaotic noise of the crowd.
🪖 The Military Link: The U.S. Army and the Armed Forces Sports program bridge these two worlds perfectly.
Did you know? The U.S. military is a core member of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), operating under the motto "Friendship through Sport."
Just like the World Cup, CISM uses athletic competition to bring global armies together—even former adversaries—to build peace, mutual respect, and goodwill. It proves that whether on the battlefield or the soccer field, we are stronger together.
🤝 You Are Never Alone on the Field
In the military, you never leave a teammate behind. In civilian life, that rule still stands. If you are navigating a tough season, feeling overwhelmed, or need help claiming the benefits you earned, your team is waiting to back you up.
Reach out today:
🏢 taylorveteranservices.com: Connect with us for local support and benefits assistance.
💻 VA.gov: Check your healthcare, housing, and education benefits online.

The mission doesn’t end when we take off the uniform. 🇺🇸
Today, I’m heading into the Richmond VA clinic to begin my routine six-month check-up. Giving urine, getting bloodwork, and staying on top of my health—because keeping our bodies and minds as sound as possible is the only way we stay ready for the next mission. 🧠💪
But taking care of ourselves is only half the battle. We also have to look out for the people who look out for us. That’s why I had to make a quick pit stop at @shipleysdonuts to grab some fresh donuts and kolaches for the incredible staff at the clinic who have helped me since 2014! 🍩✨
To my fellow Veterans: Let’s keep serving. Whether it’s volunteering your time, donating, or just checking in on a battle buddy, our communities still need our leadership and heart.

Here you go, Bro:
Texas Veterans & Families: How to access the new $40M+ in state grants 🇨🇱🎖️
Texas just announced over $40.8 million in Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) grants. Crucial detail: The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) doesn't give this money directly to individuals. Instead, they gave it to local nonprofits and local governments to provide free services directly to you.
Here is how to get your share of the help:
1️⃣ Find local providers: Go to tvc.texas.gov and check the Grant Services Directory. Search by your county to find the organizations near you that received funding.
2️⃣ Pick your service: The funds cover emergency financial aid (rent/utilities), home repairs, mental health counseling, legal aid, and job training.
🌅 #FridayFunFact: The Spirit of Fort Ord
Did you know that California’s historic Fort Ord started in 1917 as a cavalry training ground before preparing 1.5 million service members for combat? Today, much of it is a peaceful National Monument. For generations of troops, those rugged coastal sands were where individual civilians transformed into a unified force.
🕊️ The Connection: You Are Never Alone
There is a profound spiritual truth in the history of bases like Fort Ord: you were never meant to carry the weight of the world by yourself.
In uniform, you always had a formation. But in civilian life, the quiet burdens—mental, emotional, and physical—can make you feel isolated. Reaching out for help isn't a sign of weakness; it’s a tactical decision to secure your perimeter and protect your peace. Your formation hasn’t ended—it’s just changed.

Grateful for another Blessed Memorial Day. Today is about honoring those who gave everything for our freedom.
As veterans, we all have different stories, mistakes we've learned from, and the shared experience of leaving family and friends behind to serve a greater purpose with many of us not returning with the same mind and body. By God's grace, many of us made it back home—but today, we remember those who didn't.
To the fallen heroes, and to the families who keep their memories alive- we salute you. You are not forgotten. I pray God allows Taylor Veteran Services to stand in the gap for as long as He sees fit for those needing care on the new journey.
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." — John 15:13
🙏🏾🤎☀️☮️🫡⚓️🇺🇸
🎖️ Motivation Monday: Taylor Veteran Services
"The night is long, but it doesn't have to be empty."
For many of us, the battlefield followed us home in the form of restlessness. When the world goes quiet, and your mind stays loud, it’s easy to feel frustrated, exhausted, or even defeated by the clock. But tonight—or the next time sleep feels out of reach—we’re challenging you to **reclaim those hours.**
If you can’t find rest, find **purpose.** Instead of fighting the pillow, use that energy to lighten the load for the "you" that has to wake up tomorrow.
🌙 Turning Restlessness into Resilience
When the "3:00 AM Wall" hits, try shifting your mission from *trying to sleep* to *intentional action*:
*Journal the Noise: If your mind is racing with "what-ifs" or memories, get them out of your head and onto paper. Writing it down signals to your brain that the information is safe and doesn't need to be looped on repeat.
*Pray or Meditate: Use the silence for spiritual or mental grounding. Whether it’s a conversation with a higher power or a focused breathing exercise, use the stillness to find your center.
* Productive Prep:** If you’re wide awake, tackle a small task that usually stresses you out in the morning. Prep your coffee, layout your gear, or write your "Top 3" to-do list.
💡Why This Works
"Victory is won in the hours before the sun rises."
By choosing to be productive or reflective, you strip away the anxiety of *not* sleeping. You aren't "losing" sleep; you are "gaining" a head start. Making the coming day easier is a gift to your future self.
The Mission: Don't let the darkness drain you. Use it to build your toolkit for the light.
Stay Strong. Stay Grounded. We’ve got your back.

Happy Holiday Friday!
With Memorial Day weekend officially here, Taylor Veteran Services is bringing you a special Friday Fun Fact. Today, we look beyond the barbecues and long weekends to honor the deep spiritual heartbeat of this sacred day. 🕯️✨
📜 The Friday Fun Fact: The Spiritual Roots of Decoration Day
Did you know that Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day? It began after the Civil War as a spontaneous, community-led movement to "decorate" the graves of fallen soldiers with the first flowers of spring.
There is a beautiful spiritual truth hidden in those flowers: 🌸🌱
In many faith traditions, spring flowers represent resurrection, renewal, and the belief that life is never truly lost. By placing living flowers on the final resting places of our heroes, our ancestors made a profound statement—that the souls and sacrifices of those who died for freedom remain eternally alive.
🕊️ The Taylor Veteran Services Twist
At Taylor Veteran Services, we believe Memorial Day is a sacred calling.
True faith teaches us that the highest honor we can give to the fallen is to live lives worthy of their sacrifice. That means standing in the gap for the families left behind, supporting the veterans still walking among us, and remembering that love is the ultimate force for good. ❤️🤝
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." — John 15:13
This weekend, as we enjoy time with loved ones, let’s pause to look up, remember, and give thanks for the brave men and women who gave their all so we could live in peace.
Have a blessed, safe, and deeply reflective Memorial Day weekend. We will never forget. 🇺🇸🕊️

✈️ FRIDAY FUN FACT: The Gateway to Hope
🕊️Happy Friday, Warriors! Today’s Taylor Veteran Services fun fact takes us back to where it all began for our Airmen: Lackland Air Force Base, the "Gateway to the Air Force."
For many, Lackland was a place of high stress and transformation. But for those seeking assistance in their time of need, there is a deep spiritual connection hidden in plain sight.
---
🏛️ The Freedom Chapel Connection
Did you know that the Freedom Chapel at Lackland was built to be more than just a building? It was designed as a sanctuary for recruits to find their "North Star" during the most grueling weeks of basic training.
*The Spiritual Link: Just as the Chapel provides a safe harbor for a young recruit, **Taylor Veteran Services** acts as a sanctuary for Veterans navigating the "Basic Training" of the VA claims process.
*Restoring the Spirit: Seeking your benefits isn't just about the paperwork—it’s about **restoration**. Many of our Veterans describe receiving their 100% rating as a "spiritual weight" being lifted off their shoulders after decades of carrying the burden alone.
🌟 Why This Matters Today
If you are in a "time of need," remember the lesson from Lackland: The foundation of your strength is built on the support you're willing to accept.
Whether it was a Chaplain in San Antonio or a Veteran Advocate at TVS, you were never meant to fly solo. The same persistence that got you through the "Gateway" will get you through your claim.

"Your journey began at the Gateway. Your restoration begins with a phone call."

🪂 Friday Fun Fact: The Legend of "Chief" the Jumping Bear
Did you know the 82nd Airborne once had a black bear cub mascot named Chief? He symbolized the "untamed courage" it takes to jump from a perfectly good airplane. 🐻❄️
🛡️ Trust the Gear, Trust the Team
At 1,200 feet, survival comes down to your equipment and the person to your left and right. That mission-first mindset made you elite—and you never faced the jump alone.
🙏 Navigating the Transition
The hardest "jump" is often the move to civilian life. Without the uniform, it can feel like a free-fall.
"Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9
In the service, we valued self-reliance. But true leadership is knowing when to call for backup. Reaching out isn’t a "malfunction"—it’s utilizing your resources to win.
🦅 We Are Your Ground Crew
If you’re feeling the weight of the pack, Taylor Veteran Services is here. You don’t have to trek alone.
Strength is asking for help.
Courage is being vulnerable.
Victory is finding your community.
Let’s pack the chute for your next chapter together. Reach out today.

🚩 FUN FACT FRIDAY: The Great Place Edition! 🚩
Did you know that Fort Hood, Texas is one of the largest military installations in the world? Whether you were 1st Cav, 3rd CR, or just spent some time in Killeen, "The Great Place" has some incredible history.
Here are 3 facts to kick off your weekend:
🕺 The King was here: Before he was the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley did his basic training right here at Fort Hood in 1958. He even lived in Killeen with his family before shipping out to Germany!
🔄 A Name with a New Legacy: You might have seen the signs change! After being renamed Fort Cavazos in 2023, the post officially reverted to Fort Hood in June 2025. But there’s a twist—it’s no longer named after a Confederate general. Today, it honors Col. Robert B. Hood, a WWI hero and Distinguished Service Cross recipient. 🎖️
🚜 Massive Footprint: Fort Hood covers over 218,000 acres. That is so big you could fit the entire city of Chicago inside the gates and still have 70,000 acres left over for tank maneuvers!
🛡️ Taylor Veteran Services Tip: 💡
Serving at "The Great Place" often meant long days in the field and rough rides in armored vehicles. If that "Great Place" wear and tear is showing up in your knees, back, or hearing today, don't ignore it. You earned those benefits!
Tag a battle buddy you served with at the Hood!👇

🧠 Wellness Wednesday: Protect Your Peace (and subconscious)
At Taylor Veteran Services, we know that high situational awareness is a skill we carry long after service. But are you aware of what’s infiltrating your "internal AO"?
What you watch and listen to doesn't just pass through you—it settles. Constant exposure to news cycles, conflict, and negativity eventually becomes part of your **subconscious**, shaping your moods, your reactions, and your outlook on the world. 📺🚫
This week, we challenge you to an energy audit:
* Silence the Noise: The 24/7 cycle of war and negativity drains your mental battery. If your environment is filled with chaos, your mind will follow suit.
* Choose Your Inputs: Your subconscious is like a garden. If you plant stress, you’ll harvest anxiety. If you plant growth, you’ll harvest peace.
* Open a Book: Instead of scrolling or watching, pick up a book to learn, grow, or find inspiration. Reading allows you to control the pace of information and refuels your spirit rather than exhausting it. 📚✨
The Mission: Trade 30 minutes of screen time for 30 minutes of reading today. Give your subconscious something worth keeping.
Taylor Veteran Services: Guarding the well-being of those who served.

⚓ Friday Fun Fact: The "Eiffel Tower" of Sicily!
Did you know that NRTF Niscemi (part of NCTS Sicily) is home to a Low Frequency antenna that stands 827 feet tall? That’s nearly the height of the Eiffel Tower! 🗼
This isn't just a feat of engineering; it’s a lifeline. This massive tower sends critical signals deep under the Mediterranean waves, ensuring our submarines stay connected even in the dark, silent depths.
✨ Faith & Perseverance: Staying Connected
In the military, we call it "Assured Communications." It’s the certainty that the message will get through, no matter the weather or the distance.
At Taylor Veteran Services, we see that same spirit in our veterans every day:
Steady Faith: Just like those radio waves, faith is the invisible force that keeps us grounded when the world feels chaotic. It reminds us that we are never truly "out of range." 🕊️
True Grit: The antennas at Niscemi withstand scorching Sicilian heat and fierce winds to do their job. To the veterans navigating the transition home: your perseverance is your power. You were built to weather the storm. 🦾
🤝 We Are Your Ground Station
Sometimes the signal gets fuzzy. Whether you’re navigating benefits or looking for a community that understands your journey, we are here to help you recalibrate.
Happy Friday! Keep your frequency clear, your faith strong, and your head held high. You’ve earned the signal. 📡🇺🇸

🛡️ Motivational Monday: Fit for the Fight 🛡️
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles..." — Isaiah 40:31
Good morning, Team! In the service, we didn't ignore a cracked chassis or a red-lined engine. We did the work to stay mission-ready. 🛠️
Today’s SITREP: I went into the clinic to "face the music" on some long-standing injuries:
✅ Knee nerve condition
✅ Broken bones in the left wrist
✅ Persistent shoulder issues
✅ Managing energy levels with Cyclic Benign Neutropenia
It’s not always fun to hear what’s "wrong," but being Fit for the Fight means being honest about our internal maintenance. We owe it to our Creator and our families to be the best versions of ourselves.
YOUR MARCHING ORDERS:
1️⃣ Schedule the Labs: Knowledge is your best tactical advantage.
2️⃣ Stop "Toughing it Out": Address the injury before it stops you.
3️⃣ Keep the Faith: Seeking help is a sign of discipline, not weakness.
Let's get after it. 🦅
#MotivationalMonday #VeteranStrong #FitForTheFight #TaylorVeteranServices #FaithAndService
Resilience is in Your DNA
Happy Monday, Team.
When you’re staring down a tough week or a mountain of paperwork, it’s easy to get tunnel vision. You see the obstacle, but you forget the **person** facing it.
Take a second to look back. Think about the challenges you’ve already conquered, the environments you’ve survived, and the "impossible" days you made it through to get here. You aren't just starting a new week; you're continuing a journey built on proven strength.
Pause and Reset
If the pressure feels heavy today, give yourself permission to shift your energy. You don't have to power through every second—sometimes the most tactical move is a strategic pause.
Reach Out: Call a battle buddy or someone you trust.
Move: Go for a run, hit a yoga flow, or just take a walk around the block.
Disconnect: Put the phone down. Breathe.
Refocus: Spend five minutes meditating on a thought that actually makes you smile.
That break isn't "quitting"—it’s recharging. It’s the fuel you need for the next few steps of the journey.
---
Taylor Veteran Services is in your corner. Whatever you're facing, remember: you’ve survived 100% of your hardest days so far. You’ve got this.

The Power of Routine – Daily Message of Support
Military life teaches structure for a reason: routine builds resilience.
After service, many veterans discover that losing structure can make life feel more difficult than expected.
Motivation can drop.
Focus can slip.
Days can start to blur together.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you may need a new rhythm.
A strong day doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it starts with:
• Getting up on time
• Making your bed
• Taking a walk
• Drinking water
• Checking in with someone
• Completing one task with purpose
Progress is often built through consistency—not intensity.
Today’s challenge: Pick three simple things to complete today and do them with intention.
Small wins matter.
Routine matters.
Forward movement matters.
Taylor Veteran Services encourages every veteran and family to build habits that support peace, strength, and stability.
Discipline still works—on and off the battlefield.
#TaylorVeteranServices #Faith #Discipline #MilitaryMindset #VeteranWellness
SERVICE IS THE ONLY PROOF REQUIRED.
At Taylor Veteran Services , we believe the mission doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
You don’t send someone to war and then make them "prove" they deserve help when they return.
Service is the only proof required. We’re here to cut through the red tape and ensure our heroes get the care, respect, and support they’ve already earned.
🛡️ TVS: Standing in the gap for those who stood for us. If you’re a veteran struggling to navigate the system, don’t fight this battle alone. Reach out to us today.
#TaylorVeteranServices #TVS #VeteransAdvocacy #FaithInAction #NoMoreRedTape
Taylor Veteran Services – Daily Message of Support
Courage in the military often looks obvious: deployment, danger, pressure, sacrifice, and leadership under stress. 🎖️💪
But courage after service can look very different.
Sometimes courage now looks like:
• Starting over 🔄
• Going to therapy 🧠🗣️
• Applying for a job 📝💼
• Being patient with your family 👨👩👧👦❤️
• Admitting you’re struggling 👋
• Learning how to live differently than before ✨
That kind of courage counts too.
Veterans often carry invisible expectations about how strong they’re “supposed” to be. But growth requires a different kind of grit—the kind that keeps showing up even when life looks unfamiliar.
Today’s challenge: Name one thing you’ve been avoiding because it feels hard. Then take one small step toward it today. 🚶♂️💨
Taylor Veteran Services believes courage doesn’t disappear after service—it simply changes shape.
You are still built for hard things.

🛰️ FRIDAY FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW? 🛰️
Happy Friday from Taylor Veteran Services! As we wrap up the week, let’s look up to our newest branch of the military: the United States Space Force.
The Fact:
While the Space Force was officially established in 2019, its mission grew out of the Air Force Space Command, which started back in 1982.
Why it matters to YOU today:
The Guardians of the Space Force operate and protect the GPS constellation. Every time you use your phone to find a restaurant, check the weather, or even swipe your credit card, you’re using technology maintained by our military!
---
🦅 WEEKEND ENCOURAGEMENT
The Space Force reminds us that some of the most vital work is often the least visible.
*Your Impact is Real: Like a satellite orbiting 12,000 miles above, the work you do for your family and community might go unseen—but it is **essential** to the mission.
*Recalibrate Your Orbit: Satellites need "station-keeping" to stay on track. If you’ve had a heavy week, take this weekend to pause, breathe, and get back on course.
*Maintain the High Ground: You have a unique perspective because of your service. Use that "satellite view" to stay calm and lead when things feel chaotic on the ground.
---
YOUR MISSION: This weekend, every time you pull up a map on your phone, remember that you are part of a legacy of service that reaches from the earth to the stars.
Semper Supra! (Always Above) 🌌

Service Doesn’t Expire
One of the greatest misconceptions about military service is that it ends when the uniform comes off.
The truth is: service often continues for a lifetime.
Veterans continue to serve through leadership, mentorship, volunteer work, faith communities, emergency response, coaching, parenting, and simply by being examples of perseverance and discipline.
The mission may change—but the values remain.
Duty. Honor. Courage. Commitment. Integrity. Sacrifice.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your service still counts because your active-duty years are behind you, hear this clearly:
It still counts.
And what you bring to your community today still matters deeply.
Your experience, your voice, and your resilience are needed.
Today’s challenge: Find one way to serve today—even in a small way. Encourage someone. Help a neighbor. Support another veteran. Lead by example.
Taylor Veteran Services believes your purpose did not end when your military chapter changed.
You still have a mission.
#TaylorVeteranServices #Family #Military #Community #Faith
The Battle Shouldn’t Continue at Home.
There is a deep resonance in the truth we often overlook: we ask our brave men and women to face unimaginable challenges, trusting that their sacrifice will be honored when they return.
Yet, too often, our veterans come home only to face a different kind of frontline- paperwork, endless hoops, and a system that feels designed to question their worthiness.
At Taylor Veteran Services, we believe this is fundamentally backwards. To meet their sacrifice with bureaucracy diminishes everything they have endured. It shouldn’t be another battle to fight on their own soil.
Our Commitment:
* A Welcoming Embrace: You shouldn’t have to prove your worth after you’ve already given your all.
* A Clear Path: We work to remove the "hoops" and streamline the journey to healing and rebuilding.
* Honoring the Promise: Your courage earned you a commitment from this country—we are here to make sure it’s kept.
Their courage earned them a promise. We’re here to make sure that promise is never forgotten or put into question.

The Home Front Matters Too
Today we want to recognize a group that often carries tremendous weight with quiet strength: military families.
Behind every service member is often a spouse holding the household together, children learning resilience early, parents worrying in silence, and loved ones sacrificing time, comfort, and peace of mind.
Military families serve too.
They endure deployments, missed birthdays, uncertainty, transitions, and the emotional toll of military life. Their support is often unseen—but never unimportant.
To every military spouse, parent, child, and caregiver:
Your strength matters.
Your sacrifice matters.
Your role matters.
If you’re a veteran reading this, today is a good day to say thank you to someone who stood beside you through your service—or through the years after.
Today’s challenge: Tell one family member, “I appreciate what you carried for me.”
A little acknowledgment can go a long way toward healing, reconnecting, and honoring shared sacrifice.
Taylor Veteran Services proudly supports not just veterans—but the families who serve alongside them every step of the way.
Strong families build strong veterans.
#TaylorVeteranServices #Family #Military #Community #Faith
Brotherhood and Sisterhood
One of the strongest bonds in the world is the one forged through service.
Military life teaches something many people never fully experience: the meaning of brotherhood and sisterhood. Veterans know what it means to rely on one another, protect one another, and carry one another through difficult days.
That bond doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
Even after service, that connection still matters. The mission may look different now, but the need for community remains the same. No veteran was ever meant to carry every burden alone.
Families understand this too. Spouses, children, parents, and caregivers often serve in quiet ways that the world doesn’t always see. Their support is part of the mission—and always has been.
If you’ve been feeling disconnected lately, this is your reminder:
You are still part of something bigger than yourself.
Today’s encouragement: Don’t isolate. Reach back into your circle. Someone out there probably needs to hear from you just as much as you need to hear from them.
Today’s challenge: Call or message one person you served with—or one military family you haven’t checked on in a while.
At Taylor Veteran Services, we believe connection saves lives, restores hope, and strengthens purpose.
No one fights alone. Not then. Not now.

TVS Friday Fun Fact ⚓
It's Friday Fun Fact time, and this week we're diving into the history of the United States Marine Corps! 🇺🇸
Did you know that the U.S. Marine Corps was founded in Philadelphia, PA, on November 10, 1775, in a watering hole called Tun Tavern? That’s right – a place for social gathering and camaraderie was where the very first Marines were recruited! This incredible story of a small beginning growing into a powerful force for good reminds us of the power of faith and belief.
Think about it: even the most robust and significant things can start in the most unassuming of places. It's a testament to the fact that with dedication, courage, and a strong sense of purpose, great things can be achieved. And in that spirit, we want to honor all our brave Marines, both past and present, for their commitment and sacrifice.
This Friday, as we celebrate this unique piece of Marine history, let us also reflect on the power of faith to move mountains and the significance of community in achieving our most ambitious goals. Just as that small group of individuals at Tun Tavern grew to become a global symbol of strength, let us find our own inner strength and power through faith and purpose.
Happy Friday, everyone! May your weekend be filled with moments of reflection and the company of those you love. And to all our Marines: Semper Fidelis!

🏃🏾♂️ Where Are You Running? 🏃🏻♀️
In Proverbs, “running” isn’t just about speed—it’s about direction. As a disabled veteran managing a right knee limitation and nerve issues, my physical “run” looks a bit different. Winter is my season for rest and recovery, but as Spring arrives, I’m focused on building back the strength to exercise with my family.
It’s a reminder that even when we move slowly, our spiritual direction is what matters most.
📖 The Wisdom of the Run:
* The Danger: “Their feet run to evil...” (Prov 1:16). It’s easy to fast-track toward trouble when we lose our way.
* The Promise: “When you walk, your step will not be hampered; and if you run, you will not stumble.” (Prov 4:12).
✨ The Takeaway:
Walking in wisdom clears the “moral debris” from our path. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or sprinting toward a goal, wisdom provides:
✅ An Unobstructed Path
✅ Safety in Every Step
✅ Strength to Keep Going
This Spring, I’m building my strength and keeping my eyes on the right path. It doesn’t matter how fast you go, as long as you’re running toward what is good! 🙏🏾🤎☀️☮️

Good Day from Taylor Veteran Services.
Today, we pause to honor the strength, sacrifice, and resilience of our veterans and military families. Your service—whether in uniform or on the home front—has shaped the story of our nation in ways that deserve lasting respect and gratitude.
Veterans have always stood at the center of defining moments in American life—from defending freedom overseas to serving communities here at home. Their legacy is not only found in military history, but in the lives they continue to impact every day.
Across America today, veterans continue to lead in business, public service, emergency response, mentorship, and community support. Military families remain one of the strongest support systems in our nation, carrying burdens with courage, patience, and love.
If today feels heavy, remember this:
• Your service still matters.
• Your story still matters.
• Your family’s sacrifice still matters.
• And your next chapter still has purpose.
Strength is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed, making one hard phone call, checking on a buddy, or asking for help when you need it. That counts too.
Today’s challenge: Reach out to one fellow veteran, family member, or friend today. A simple “How are you doing?” can change someone’s day—and sometimes, their life.
From all of us at Taylor Veteran Services: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your continued example of perseverance.
Stay strong. Stay connected. Stay mission-focused.

🌅 Wellness Wednesday: The Mission of Maintenance
In the service, we’re trained to "embrace the suck" and push through until the objective is secured. But in civilian life, many veterans find themselves stuck in a permanent "grind" mode, treating every daily task like a high-stakes deployment.
The Hard Truth: You can’t complete the mission if the equipment (that’s you) breaks down.
Today’s Tip: Tactical Rest & Play
True resilience isn't just about how hard you can work; it's about how effectively you can downshift. Balancing the "grind" with intentional "play" isn't a sign of weakness—it’s a maintenance requirement for your mental health.
* Schedule Your "Liberty": If you don't schedule time for hobbies, travel, or relaxation, your brain will stay in "mission mode" 24/7. Treat a sunset yoga session or a vacation just as seriously as a work deadline.
* Identify the "No-Fly Zone": Pick a time each evening where "work talk" and "mission planning" end. Use that time to reconnect with your family or yourself.
* The 70/30 Rule: Try to aim for a life where your "mission" takes up 70% of your energy, leaving 30% strictly for recovery and joy. That 30% is what prevents burnout and keeps your mind sharp for when things actually get tough.
Remember: Even the most elite units have a recovery cycle.
Your new mission is to find the balance between being a warrior and being human.

Though your physical battle continues, God is allowing you to serve in a powerful new way, helping others win a different type of battle through faith and fellowship. You are proving that strength isn't just physical; it’s spiritual.
Big News for Taylor Veteran Services: Because of the work we are putting in to serve our local heroes, we are proud to announce that Taylor Veteran Services is now accredited by the VA as Claims Agents and Representatives!
We are now even better equipped to fight for the benefits and support you earned.
Thank you for walking with us. Your mission hasn't ended; it has evolved.🙏

Friday Fun Fact from Taylor Veteran Services
Did You Know?
The concept of "VA Disability" is older than the United States itself!
In 1636—140 years before the Declaration of Independence—the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony passed a law stating that any soldier wounded while defending the colony would be "maintained competently by the Colony for the life of such person." This established the foundational principle that a nation has a sacred duty to care for those who have borne the battle.
We are proud to continue that legacy every single day. Happy Friday!

Honoring Excellence: Brad Moore’s Journey to 100% 🎖️
We have a major milestone to celebrate at Taylor Veteran Services! Join us in congratulating Brad Moore—the 73rd veteran to reach a 100% disability rating through our program since August 2021.
Brad’s journey is a testament to the power of leadership. Bringing the discipline of his Army training and the precision of his IT career, Brad didn’t just focus on his own claim—he poured back into our mission.
A Partnership of Growth 📈
Brad’s unique background in both the nonprofit and business sectors was instrumental in our evolution. His insights encouraged us to scale Taylor Veteran Services, ensuring we could reach more of those who served.
Serving with Purpose 🙏
Brad’s approach reminds us of the heart behind our work. As it says in Luke 2:49:
"...wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"
Just as this scripture resonates with Brad’s commitment to his "particular ministry," it drives our mission to ensure every veteran receives the honor and compensation they earned.
Brad, thank you for your service, your mentorship, and for being a vital part of the TVS family!
